Daddy

My Daddy went to war--
I don't know quite what for,
but Mommy said, to keep
us free.  Hitler's children
we won't be, and someday
he'll come back to me and Mommy
It's hard to understand
About this great big land
but I know--my Daddy must do right
We hate to see him go,
because we love him so,
but he said everybody has to fight
